Bags of room as skiers set sail for the Alps

Baggage is no problem for winter sports fans setting sail on a self-catering ski holiday with P&O Ferries - there's even room for the kitchen sink.

With heavy snow already reported across the Alps, keen skiers and snowboarders are starting to think about packing up and heading south for their winter break.

Convenient ferry crossings from Dover to Calais or Hull to Zeebrugge go straight to the heart of the European autoroute network with most Alpine resorts eight to 10 hours drive away. There is no wasted time in airport queues and there are no baggage restrictions.

Ferry crossings this winter start at £25 each way for a car and up to nine passengers using the Dover-Calais service.

P&O Ferries’ website also has a direct link to Pierre-Vacances holidays, which is offering discounts of up to a third off self-catering apartments in many popular French ski resorts for bookings made by 31 October.
