This could be the best-kept secret for cross-Channel bargain hunting this Christmas, and it’s called a Car Park Shopper with P&O Ferries.
For a miserly £10 two people with a car can park on one of the company’s Dover – Calais ships. During the four hour return trip there’s ample time to take advantage of offshore shopping at the low French rates of duty on board.
Factor in the company’s purchasing power as one of the largest offshore retailers in the world, and forget about the strength of the euro because P&O Ferries prices in pounds. It all adds up to some incredible bargains. For example:
• For some festive fizz there’s Piper Heidsieck Champagne at two for £30
• Two litres of Courvoisier brandy for £35 should suffice for the Xmas pud’
• Gallo wine boxes are £16 for two
• Jacob’s Creek wine is £15 for six bottles.
Top name fragrances and cosmetics are up to 40 per cent cheaper than on the High Street, and discounted fashion brands include sunglasses by Gucci, Prada and Police, plus bags by Radley, Guess and Fiorelli.
