Belgian ferry fares that won't break the bank

Bargain mini cruise fares from P&O Ferries offer an incentive for foodies to fork out for a trip to Bruges.

The company is offering special mini cruise prices for trips to the Belgian city from £64 per person based on two people sharing cabin accommodation. The special ferry fares on the Hull-Zeebrugge service include transfers to the city centre and are available for travel before 13 July 2012 at www.poferries.com or on 08716 64 64 64.

On arrival travellers can sample a range of gastronomic treats by visiting some of the quirkier attractions that Bruges has to offer. These include the Choco-Story chocolate museum (entry €7 per person), which brings to life the 4,000 year history of the sweet treat, including tastings of some of the best chocolate made in Europe.

The Frietmuseum is the World’s first and only exhibition dedicated to fries. Housed in a fourteenth century building that ranks amongst the most beautiful in Bruges, the museum is dedicated to revealing the secret to serving up a cracking portion of chips (entry €6 per person).

To round off the day’s sightseeing a visit to Restaurant Den Dyver allows visitors to sample more typical Belgian cuisine, but with a twist. The award-winning restaurant specialises in beer-flavoured gastronomy and prices start from €55 per head for three courses.
