Britons taking a ferry to Austria this summer have the chance to take in the annual Salzburg Festival.
This year, the legendary event opens on July 26th with events running until August 31st under the central theme of "the nocturnal side of reasoning".
Visitors can expect five weeks of film, theatre and music as experts from across Austria descend on the city.
Highlights include classical concerts from the Vienna Philharmonic and Berlin Philharmonic orchestras, as well as two days of musical matinees at the Mozarteum on August 2nd and 3rd.
The art nouveau Mozarteum is a breath-raking concert hall built between 1910 and 1914 and hosts some of the best concerts in Salzburg throughout the year.
This year's opera calendar is packed with favourites including a new production of Don Giovanni in Italian with both German and English subtitles.
Verdi's Otello and Charles Gounod's Romeo et Juliette are also worth looking out for.
