    Easter music in Vienna

Vienna's musical programme for 2008 is looking to be jam packed with treats, one of which is the Osterklang.

This Easter music festival is famous throughout the country, with a great selection of concerts taking place over the Easter period. It is held in venues across Vienna as the city welcomes some of classical music's best-known stars, reports WhatsonWhen.

The Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra will be performing and will kick off the festival with A German Requiem by Brahms. The orchestra is also scheduled to play for the Vienna State Opera. Over the period Wagner's Parsifal will be put on by the organisation.

Those in attendance can expect to see Giullo Cesare in Egitto by Handel on April 3rd, The Mystery of the Cross on April 6th, and on Easter Sunday Osternachtkonzert at the Minoritenkirche church.

It runs from March until April, with concerts running from March 14th.
