Hip hoppers heading to Switzerland

Youngsters from all over Europe are coming to Switzerland next month to show off their skills at the Swiss Hip-Hop Championship.

This is an annual event, showcasing moves that have never been seen before.

Held in Zurich's El Cubanito, young people aged between 16 and 18 will be flocking to the venue to demonstrate their techniques on the decks and the dance floor. Street dancing and break dancing will be the order of the day, with all the hottest new music accompanying the dancers.

Entrants perform their routines in front of crowds and judges and are encouraged by lots of cheering and a great atmosphere. Winners at this stage will go on to compete in the world championships next year in Germany.

This is the first year that the event has been part of the International Dance Organisation.Zurich is a great city with plenty to do for all the family and is in driving distance from ferry ports.
