Snowboard event to hit Syrian Alps

More than 3,000 metres above sea level, extreme sports enthusiasts will be coming together next month for the Powerade Pleasure Jam. Held on the Dachstein Glacier from November 9th to 11th, snowboarders will compete for various coveted prizes.

Amateurs will have the chance to test their skills on the Friday of the event, as the pros take over on Saturday to entertain the crowds. Sunday has the theme old school, and boarders are encouraged to bring out all their retro boarding clothes, the most impressive winning a prize.

The weekend will be rounded off with an old school fancy dress ball.

There will be entertainment aside from the sports itself including performances from a range of DJs, film screenings, concerts and parties. Visitors will also have a chance to check out some of the board gear free of charge, as well as entering the competition to take all the equipment home.

It promises to be a great weekend for boarders and those just interested in watching and soaking up the atmosphere.
