Those wanting a festive break between Christmas and New Year may be hard-pressed to find a better destination than Antwerp, which will open its doors over the holidays.
Complementing the Christmas market that will sell all manner of festive gifts during December and only a free heated bus service away from the ice rink on the Grote Markt, all kinds of rides and attractions will be on display in Hangar 29 of the famous port.
These include a mirror labyrinth, a nostalgic playground and the obligatory authentic merry-go-round.
Event organisers said: "No matter what the weather is like, inside the hall the temperature will be up and the spirits high.
"Be enchanted by the street animations and circus acts in this retrospective setting."
Antwerp's tourism office said the city resembled a "pocketsize metropolis" and offered the ferry traveller all kinds of things to see and do, including fashionable shopping adventures, multicultural food and "dazzling" monuments.
