Brussels draws in visitors

Brussels is the perfect place to go for a short break, combining the best of modern art with excellent food and an exciting museum scene.

As the home of Tintin, particular attention is paid to the cartoon hero.

Murals of his adventures with Captain Haddock are all over the city, most spectacularly on the main promenade of Rue de L'Etuve.

The nearby Comic Strip Museum is a must for families and features large-scale models of Tintin and his friends including Professor Calculus the Thompson Twins and the character's loyal companion Snowy.

Over 5,000 original drawings are on show in the art nouveau warehouse designed by famed Belgian architect Victor Horta.
