    Brussels fine art fair approaches

    Category: ferry to Belgium news

Those interested in fine art may want to hop on the ferry to Belgium early next year, when the 54th Brussels Antiques and Fine Arts Fair aims to impress art fans from around the world.

Hosted in the large halls of the Thurn & Taxis mail sorting station, the building itself has been described as "a wonderful example of the Belgian industrial architectural heritage", the event is easily accessible from the North Station in the country's capital.

People willing to hop on the ferry to see the art extravaganza will be interested to know that it will host 130 participants, with 60 per cent of them domestic as well as others from England, France, Italy, Switzerland and Monaco.

The event will specialise in Oriental, tribal and Oceanic art as well as silver, antique jewellery and work from the Middle Ages.

Visitors willing to travel the extra mile for more art in Belgium may get their fill from a trip to Antwerp's Koninklijk Museum Voor Schone Kunsten, which displays works by Van Eyck, Rubens and Memling.

There is so much on offer for those looking for a taste of Belgium. Read our guide to Belgium for more information.
