Gastronomic treats will be available for visitors to Antwerp to sample this month as a top food festival kicks off in the city.
From Friday August 22nd to Sunday August 24th the Taste Festival will take place, which is described by Antwerp's official tourist body as a prime reason for "foodies" to "descend" on the city.
As part of the three-day event, producers of culinary delights will pitch up stalls and dish out samples of their culinary delights for revellers to sample and enjoy.
Furthermore, around 25 restaurants will be showcasing their finest creations and a selection of up-and-coming chefs will be serving up mini meals at suitable small prices.
The tourism organisation explains: "You will be able to taste various regional foods and typical Antwerp products: meat and fish, as well as beer, jenever, coffee and sweets."
Holidaymakers taking a trip to Belgium could also attend the Zomer Van Antwerpen (Summer of Antwerp), which is a festival featuring a month-long programme of cultural performances.
