Children taking a trip to Belgium on a cross channel ferry this half term will have the chance to get up close to nature. Namur, one of the country's most picturesque cities, is welcoming visitors to its Nature Festival which is taking a closer look at birds.
Focusing on flight and the beauty of birds, there will be exhibitions of photographs and films, along with sketches and paintings at venues around the city. The venues include the Galerie du Beffroi and Eglise Notre-Dame. Prizes will be awarded to those who can capture the best photographs of birds in flight.
Another great day out for the family in Belgium is Walibi, a theme park, with more than 20 rides, from the mild to the terrifying, reports WhatsOnWhen. There is also live entertainment including performing animals.
Its sister them park is Aqualibi which is a water park with a selection of flumes, waves and waterfalls.
Visitors come from miles around to get a piece of the action at the theme parks.
