    Korperwelten 'provides literal insight'

    Category: ferry to Belgium news

The upcoming Korperwelten exhibition in Belgium's capital Brussels hopes to give less squeamish ferry users a literal insight into how the human body works, it has been stated.

Brussels' tourist office said that the "exquisite form and physiology" of the human body is to be represented by over 200 specimens of authentic humans which aim to highlight the abilities of humans and the advances in dissection technology.

The tourist board continued: "The exhibit features original plastinates, never before seen in Brussels, including individual organs, transparent body slices and whole bodies, transformed through the revolutionary preservation process."

People will also gain a better insight into personal health as the exhibition aims to illustrate bodies facing disease, stress and health problems with those which are medically sound.

The surreal side of Brussels, as demonstrated through Korperwelten, was highlighted by Lonely Planet which also praised the Belgian capital for its fine food, Art Nouveau architecture and cafe culture.
