Leading circus drops in on Brussels

    Category: ferry to Belgium news

One of the world's most famous troupes, Cirque du Soleil, is hitting Belgium from the end of October until December 7th, undoubtedly garnering interest from performing arts fans.

The Canadian entertainment company will appear at the Brussels Kart Expo in its ninth production and newest show, Quidam, combining music and daring acrobatics in its portrayal of a lonely man on a journey into the unknown.

Hanging silk-based aerial contortion will be one of many highlights of the performance alongside other precarious balance work in both solo and group efforts.

Speaking of Quidam’s main character, the organisers said: "It could be anyone, anybody. Someone coming, going, living in our anonymous society. A member of the crowd, one of the silent majority."

Established in Quebec in 1984, Cirque du Soleil was founded by Guy Laliberte and Daniel Gaulthier and is noted for its collaboration with the late George Harrison to produce a show celebrating music of the Beatles entitled LOVE.
