    Namur Christmas ice-skating

Couples and families are promised a great Christmas getaway if they are heading to Belgium's beautiful city of Namur which will be coming alive with Christmas magic throughout December.

The city's Place d'Armes and rue de Bavaiere will be transformed into a winter wonderland, featuring decorated chalets, carols and an ice rink, which makes a fantastic day out for couples enjoying the festive season.

And for those looking to do some Christmas shopping, there will be a range of traditional handicrafts on sale. Some of the region's most popular purchases are cheese, candles and honey. Those making the journey will also have ample opportunity to sample what Belgium is most famous for: chocolate.

The events run from 11.30 until 21:00 on weekdays, 10:00 until 22:00 on Saturdays and 11:30 until 21:00 on Sundays. Entry is free.

Namur is situated between the confluences of two rivers, making it a great place for city walks, made more memorable by the traditional architecture throughout the centre of the city.
