Puppetry on display at the Musee Tchantches

The Tchantches museum is based in Liege in Belgium and is a museum celebrating what sidestep.com calls "the city's favourite puppet" and is known as the city's mascot.

At the museum there are a wide range of puppets including those of Tchantches himself and his friends.

Tchantches is such a popular character that the city has its own statue to him in the Place de lYser.

Liege first developed a marionette-theatre in the 19th century and frequent puppet performances are held during peak months. The museum also celebrates local folklore with documents and objects and offers guided tours for groups of 20 or more.

Liege is a city and municipality in Belgium and situated close to the borders in the Netherlands and Germany.

It is the third largest city in Belgium after Brussels and Antwerp and most people in the area speak French.
