Despite the "resounding success" of the BNP Paribas Masters tennis series in 2007, event organisers have told sports fans that this year's event in Paris will be "better than ever".
In a statement this week, the BNP Paribas Masters promised not to "rest on their laurels" at the premier indoor tennis tournament in France, with several changes to proceedings to make it more exciting for ferry travellers planning to get themselves across the channel between October 25th and November 2nd.
Faster surfaces were spoken of by event managers, improving the visibility for players and spectators by using Roland Garros green on the courts. Additionally, the courts will be identical to one another, the first time it has happened since 1986.
"Catch it if you can!" is to be the slogan of the tournament, with the phrase emblazoned on posters featuring famous tennis players which will be taking part, including "Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga and Gal Monfils", according to the event's organisers.
Last year, David Nalbandian beat Rafael Nadal in the final in straight sets, 6-4 6-0.
