Toulouse is home to France's African Safari, a safari park which is also a zoo.
Visitors who have brought over their own cars on the ferry can drive them through the two kilometre safari route which is speckled with real African animals.
Creatures which can be seen en route include ostriches, camels, wildebeest, pelicans, zebras, rhinos and lions.
A zoological park is home to animals from all over the world, and most species are housed in wide open sections.
There are a wide variety of animals on display, from tropical birds to big cats to monkeys, and picnic areas to stop for a snack.
A farmyard animal section has also been established to give children the chance to get up close and personal to animals while visiting the park.
Toulouse is in the south of France, close to the Spanish boarder. Its university is known as one of the oldest in Europe.
