Camping in France is a great holiday option for families, one expert has advised this week.
According to Midlands newspaper the Sunday Mercury, holidaymakers who take their cars and campervans across the channel are guaranteed village markets, ice cream "to die for" and "hairpin bends".
The newspaper sent one of its reporters to France to pitch up a tent in one of its campsites.
"At the campsite we relaxed at the swimming and paddling pools, and chatted with an Australian couple who had come to Doussard to paraglide from the mountains," said the reporter.
"They were enjoying themselves so much they extended their stay at the site for another week."
Last month it was revealed that France is a long-time popular camping destination for Brits, who appreciate its proximity to the UK.
Ruth Start, head of sales and marketing at Eurocamp, said that France is the "original camping destination for Brits.
