Christmas markets in France 'could spice up the season'

Category: ferry to France news

Those looking to do some Christmas shopping abroad this season might want to consider taking a ferry trip to France to make the most of the Paris Christmas markets.

From the Place Saint-Germain-des-Pres to Place de la Nation, a wide variety of stalls will be opening up and the Paris Convention and Visitors Bureau says all are welcome to stroll among the decorated wooden chalets.

There they will be able to discover original art and craft objects, Christmas decorations and tasty, regional produce "in a festive, magical and convivial atmosphere".

"Set aside a few hours for a little escapade and you are sure to find some unusual gift ideas and products to concoct delicious feasts," it comments.

Paris offers a whole host of markets year-round, from flower markets near the Palais de Justice to book stalls at the Porte de Versailles.

Flea markets provide ferry travellers on the look-out for antiques the chance to hunt down a bargain.
