Culinary creators face off in Lyon

Category: ferry to France news

The French city of Lyon will host the 22nd annual Bocuse d'Or early next year, with teams from across the world descending on the country to show off their culinary creations.

As well as representatives from the UK, chefs from Australia, South Korea, Uruguay, Japan and 19 others will vie for the Oscars of the cookery world in the Bocuse d'Or, held between January 27th and 28th.

South Africa and Belgium are two wildcard picks for the contest, required with other teams to cook a fish dish using Norwegian scallops, prawns and cod as well as an Aberdeen Angus-based meat dish.

TV chef Brian Turner will be acting as the president of the British campaign, backed by Susannah Bentall as well as brothers Simon and Roger Hulstone.

British entrant Brian Turner is a keen follower of charities including the Anthony Nolan Bone Marrow Trust and was awarded the CBE for services to tourism and the catering industry in the UK.
