Fitness enthusiasts fancying a holiday on nearby foreign shores are being urged to pedal to Paris for charity.
Between June 27th and June 30th 2009 a fundraising ride will take place to raise money for the Royal National Institute for Deaf People (RNID), reports WalesOnline.co.uk.
The RNID team will begin their epic cycle in London and end up in the French capital. However, cyclists will be given a rest as they cross the channel with their bikes, perhaps by ferry.
Olympic record breaker Chris Hoy is urging good sports all around the country to take part in the 300-kilometre cycle.
He told the news provider: "Get on your bike and enjoy the breath-taking experience of cycling from London to Paris for RNID.
"It's a great way to get yourself fit, meet new people and help change the world for deaf and hard of hearing people."
The Lonely Planet travel guide describes Paris as a city which "stimulates the senses" and demands to be "seen, heard, touched, tasted and smelt".
