Everland Hotel hits Paris

Category: ferry to France news

A new art installation which doubles as accommodation, the Hotel Everland, is currently stopping remove in Paris until the spring to give visitors a new overnight experience.

The one-room experiment, which is completely mobile, is as a project that aims to bring the visitor into a piece of artwork, exploring architecture and space on a dramatic backdrop.

Designed by Swiss artists Sabina Lang and Daniel Baumann, the Hotel Everland is currently placed on top of Palais de Tokyo and provides patrons with beautiful views of the Eiffel Tower over the River Seine, visible through the huge window at the end of the building.

With a bathroom, king-sized bed and lounge brought into the design, the hotel's designers said that many facets of the piece which were integral to its operation helped define the artistic concept.

"The room can be booked for one night only, the mini-bar is fully stocked and included in the price, breakfast is delivered to the door and a record collection stands at one's disposal," the designer's website revealed.

First displayed in Leipzig, the Hotel Everland was officially launched in 2006.
