Holidays will be 'slightly closer to home' this year

Category: ferry to France news

Next year's holiday bookings will be a bit closer to home due to the good value for money they provided, an industry specialist has stated.

TravelMole revealed that people were looking for a cheaper alternative to save valuable cash in 2009 and as such, many were turning to their closer European counterparts to provide a quality holiday with a better price range.

Managing director of the company Graham McKenzie highlighted the newest travel trends, which may make many people think about booking their ferry trip to the continent soon.

He said "there may be an upsurge in ferry bookings, so people will be able to shove all their stuff in a car and just jump in with their kids and everything and just go off to France, Germany or Spain".

A recent poll by Kayak.co.uk found that the majority of travellers this Christmas would be choosing a holiday with immediate family, with many newlyweds and couples also taking trips to places such as Paris.
