The annual Lemon Festival in the French town of Menton will be home to "laughter and joy" from "happy faces everywhere", according to event organisers.
Starting in the second half of April, the festival celebrates everything good about the area's dominant citrus fruit, which is grown in groves across the area.
Ferry travellers have plenty of time to plan their break and are advised to not pack the usual wintry clothes due to the hot climate of the town, which is found between Monaco and the Italian border.
Event organisers said of the Moonlit Parade, which take place on the third and fourth Thursday evenings of the month: "Fanfares, orchestras, folk groups and dancers incite disorder, bringing the kind of incandescent splendour normally found in the most extravagant festivals to this parade."
Indian human rights campaigner and travel writer Zerbanoo Gifford recently sang the praises of the picturesque town, which holidaymakers may be interested to know has 331 days of sunshine a year.
