A small museum in Lyon called the Palais de la Miniature is a celebration of the crafts used in manufacturing tiny versions of real places or tiny people.
It is designed to appeal to children and adults alike and Yahoo promises that even model-makers will "gasp in admiration at the skill and patient dexterity" used by the manufacturers.
Much of the museum is based on military conflict, with scenes presented in displays measuring 30 metres and an average figurine size of 54 millimetres. According to the museum, displays will take visitors "from the Bastille assault to the Waterloo battle".
10best.com describes the Palais de la Miniature as "one-of-a-kind", saying that visitors gain a new perspective after visiting the museum which will entertain and impress them.
Lyon is France's third largest city after Paris and Marseille and lies between the two cities in the centre of the country.
