Orleans Christmas market 'centre for great arts and crafts'

Category: ferry to France news

The French town of Orleans is again to host its annual Christmas market which dominates the city's central square each December, a France tourist website has said.

Over 60 chalets selling homemade produce and crafts from the local area will be featured in the popular market such as toys for younger family members, festive decorations and a number of different foods, according to French Connections.

The market, which is hosted between December 3rd and 24th, delivers another Christmas treat for the entire family, the tourism specialist added.

"A few feet from the market you will find a 465 square meter ice rink which will be divided into two sections, one area for beginners and the other for experts!" it continued.

Orleans also provides a great place to stay for exploring the surrounding area, where many vineyards are known to produce some of the best white wine in the region.

The cathedral at Orleans is also a beautiful sight, with Planetware highlighting the sheer size of the church's interior which it says leaves a long-lasting impression on those who get to see it.

There is so much on offer for those looking for a taste of France. Read our guide to France for more information.
