Paris to host open-air music celebrations

Paris is set to delight music fans this summer by hosting a series of open-air music performances.

From August 2nd until September 21st in the Parc Floral de Paris the Festival Classique au Vert (Open-Air Classical Music Festival) will take place in the French capital.

On a weekend-basis the park will present shows under its canvas deltas to display the talent of various classical music performers.

A selection of romantic fanfares performed by 14 musicians on "period instruments" on Sunday September 6th will be one highlight of the rolling programme of events.

On Sunday September 21st fans of the famous pianist and composer Chopin will be able to hear some of his greatest works performed.

The Lonely Planet travel guide praises Paris as the city which will put the "joie back in your vivre".

It adds that the city is a stimulant for the senses, boasting a range of top art galleries, world-class restaurants and wonderful views.
