A slalom skier who won the first men's World Cup alpine skiing title on Sunday is looking forward to the big trip to Val d'Isere in February, it has been reported.
Ferry travellers may want to follow the progress of French sportsman Jean Baptiste-Grange, who beat off America's Bode Miller for the title on Finland's Levi course, which falls inside the Arctic Circle.
The sportsman told Reuters that he was not in Levi for a podium - just the title.
Baptiste-Grange continued: "To start like this is important for me and the rest of the team. Such a start sets the tone and can change our perspective for the whole season."
The success marks the fifth World Cup victory of his career as well as his fourth title in slalom.
He will attempt the title at Val d'Isere in France between February 2nd 2009 and February 15th, with the world's finest athletes in the winter sports world descending on the ever-popular resort for a shot at the world title.
