St-art back for 13th year

Fans of art will be interested to know that Strasbourg's Contemporary Art Fair - St-art - will return to the city between November 21st and 24th.

Central and eastern European artists will be the main attraction at this year's fair, with the promoters hoping to highlight the strong cultural background of the contributors as well as the creative trends found in those countries.

According to event organisers, artistic movements and trends from the last 50 years will be displayed at the gallery but it will also have space for emerging artists under its "new profile" label.

They added: "St-art prides itself on being accessible to all and, setting aside all taboos and elitism, the fair is open to all publics from total novices to enlightened art lovers."

The city of Strasbourg's tourist office said the city provided visitors with one of the most attractive historical centres in the world, adding that it was also protected by the UNESCO World Heritage scheme.
