Tips given for French skiing trips

A national newspaper has highlighted the ease of organising a skiing holiday in France, noting that a winter sports holiday can be a lot cheaper if everything is booked separately.

The Guardian, in association with PV Holidays, stated that January to March was the best time to book for at the moment, particularly January which offered the best deals and avoided high costs at Easter.

It also noted that travelling by car can be slightly more expensive for those taking the ferry over to France, but the flexibility that it offers holidaymakers may be ideal for those wanting to discover more of France on the way to the resort.

In regards to payment methods, the newspaper added: "Make sure you pay by credit card.

"If you do you will be reimbursed (over £100) if the product you buy is faulty, unsatisfactory or if the company selling it goes bust."

One company that went bust this year was XL, the UK's third largest holiday operator, with the cancellation of XL flights leaving many stranded at airports across the world.
