Perigueux is home to the annual International Contemporary Mime Festival which will take place at the beginning of August.
There will be performances around the area, from international stars of movement to more local acts at one of the biggest such events in the world.
Shows in the street are free and there will also be some more extravagant pieces put on in the local theatres.
Mime enthusiasts can also attend workshops which will teach them how to take up the art and teach some of the simple tricks
The mime festival has proved particularly appealing to families and children, according to worldeventsguide.com.
Some of the artists who have been involved in the festival during its 25-year history include Kazuo Ohno, Robert Wilson, Josef Nadj and Marcel Marceau.
According to dancedirectory.co.za, mime is one of the oldest forms of theatre and was used in pantomimes in both ancient Greece and Rome.
