"Renewed confidence" in the pistes of the French Alps is being held by skiers returning to the resorts that litter the landscape, according to a travel writer.
Cathy Hawker of the Daily Mail highlighted the popularity of the area, where winter sports nuts regularly travel to in search of the best terrain for skiing and snowboarding - with 1.3 million British skiers heading to mountainsides in France each year.
The southern Alps, she noted, took on a different feeling than their northern-lying counterparts, with deep snowfalls and 300 days of sunshine providing an excellent and consistent backdrop to even invest in property.
Expats may be interested to know from Ms Hawker that the resorts of Vars and Serre Chevalier give committed sports enthusiasts a great base of operations and are exempt from VAT should a person rent it out for 48 weeks of the year.
For those wanting to know the conditions in each of the resorts in the French Alps, Snoweye provides a range of updated webcam stills for those interested in the slopes available.
