The world's biggest book fair is to make Frankfurt its home for another year this week. The city's Messe is expected to attract 300,000 literature lovers during its four-day run, who will hear about the latest trends in books and the media.
Exchanging opinions and ideas is a strong theme of the event, with a chance to meet writers who are there to promote their latest work and other literary products.
The fair is said to act as a "mirror of the whole cultural field of the writer word and one of the key international meeting places for those in publishing," according to events service WhatsOnWhen.
The main event of the fair is the award for the Peace Prize of the German Book Trade, for which hundreds of exhibits are on display, relating to various forms of writing. There is also a guest of honour list and this year's is the Catalan culture.
It kicks off on October 10th, running until 14th, and is said to be a great place to go for a weekend break.
