Current or future expats may want to look to their German neighbours for good housing deals, according to property specialist BuyAssociation.co.uk.
Ferry travellers hoping to use the form of transport as a means to move their goods across the channel for a new life will be interested to know that Germany is not suffering as big a dip in its finances as the UK, making it a good option in the continental housing crash, it was stated.
Property editor at BuyAssociation.co.uk Paul Collins said that as a result, Germany offered a much more resilient and sustainable housing market than most countries.
He continued: "Properties started off from a lower point anyway coming out of recession and also the growth that happened in recent years has been on a much more stable basis than we've seen in various other countries in Europe."
According to a 2008 report by the Association of Foreign Investors in Real Estate, Germany is the most stable and secure country for property investment in Europe.
