    Late-night shopping in Germany

The streets of Berlin will be teeming with shoppers Saturday, as the city opens for late-night shoppers. Known as the shopping party, it takes place in the City-West. The foucs of the event is around the Kurfstendamm.

Those who are organised enough to be thinking about Christmas shopping already will be able to explore all Berlin's finest shops and bring home a selection of gifts for friends and family, along with some treats for themselves.

More than half a million shoppers are expected in the city, with over 350 shops opening until midnight. Restaurants and bars will also be on hand to warm up shoppers if they get a chill in the October weather or simply need to rest their feet after all that shopping. Cinema and other entertainment centres will also be running late to cater for all those taking advantage of the shopping extravaganza.

Those who miss out on this chance to buy up Berlin's delights will have another chance in March 2008.
