'Make like Boris and big up Baroque Germany'

Holidaymakers have been advised to follow in the footsteps of London mayor Boris Johnson and visit Germany's Baroque palaces.

Promoters of one of Germany's largest Baroque buildings Ludwigsburg Palace say that the historic monument is the perfect place for music lovers to visit during the annual Ludwigsburg Palace Festival.

This takes place between November 20th and 30th and is described as one of Germany's "oldest and most distinguished classical music festivals".

Holidaymakers are reminded of the fun Boris had when he toured Germany's historic buildings and the residence of his ancestor Frederik I of Württemberg.

Travellers are advised that they too could explore the "opulently furnished interiors and beautiful gardens" of Baroque palaces like the gaffe-prone mayor.

According to the Lonely Planet travel guide, Germany is a nation which is peppered with "small picture-postcard towns" and boasts a "wealth of art and culture".

It adds that holidaymakers are also treated to "huge tracts of forest, delightful castles and fine wine and beer" when visiting the nation.

There is so much on offer for those looking for a taste of Germany. Read our guide to Germany for more information.
