Berlin's central train station has become a centre of sand art as part of the city's international sand sculpture festival - Sandsation.
The event is competitive and there is a World Double Championship which attracts some 120,000 visitors each year.
Artwork crafted from the sand is judged by an expert jury and the public are also allowed to have their say over the winner.
The prize for the highest-voted castle is 10,000 euros (£7,900) and there are large cash prizes for the second and third placed winners.
Entertainment at Sandsation also includes workshops for children, food markets, live music and salsa dancing lessons.
The festival will continue in Germany until August 17th and the 55,555th visitor has recently been awarded a season ticket to the event and a free guided tour around the television studios in Potsdam.
