Amsterdam has been recommended as a top holiday destination for those who want to take their bikes abroad with them.
The Sunday Mirror's Advice section informs cycling enthusiasts that the Dutch city is the perfect place to escape from the UK with their two wheels in tact.
It advises checking into the AmstelBotel, which is a hotel on a boat moored close to the city and organises weekend trips to nearby locations that are cycle-friendly.
According to Amsterdam.info, bicycle hire is widely available throughout the city, for those who cannot bring their own bike with them.
It explains that the "bikes are sturdy and locks are included", while kids equipment, such as stabilisers, are also on offer.
The Lonely Planet travel guide describes Amsterdam as a city where BMWs give way to bicycles and "triple-strength monk-made beer is drunk in gleaming, minimalist cafes".
It adds that the city thrives on its fusion of old and new and has a quintessentially Dutch feel.
