For music fans hoping to get the most out of October, a travel website has recommended the Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE), an occasion it says is popular with locals and tourists.
Travelbite noted that between the 23rd and 25th of the month, the festival is to attract a range of DJs and artists to celebrate the music genre, including such names as Armin van Buuren, Sander Kleinenburg and Britain's very own Artful Dodger.
Split into two separate parts, the Amsterdam Dance Event has Europe's "best conference" on electronica and dance, while providing a set which "comes alive" at night through talent showcases across the musical spectrum in and around the city.
The organisers said: "Now in its thirteenth year, the ADE has grown into a business conference that attracts 1,900 key professionals and a club festival audience of 72,000 people."
For those wishing to travel to the continent to see the festival, a ferry to Holland may be the best option after the Eurotunnel channel crossing was subject to fires last week, with the Guardian reporting that it was "ferries to the rescue".
