Enjoy a taste of the carnival in Holland

Holidaymakers planning a trip to Holland can enjoy a taste of the Ortel Summer Carnival in Rotterdam, it has been revealed.

This year's summer carnival in the Dutch city will take place on July 25th and spectators will be treated to a variety of entertainment as part of the Caribbean street parade, according to Holland.com.

More than 2,000 people will take part in the carnival parade through Rotterdam's lanes dressed in "gorgeous Caribbean costumes", the website has reported.

Those attending the event will be able to snack on a variety of exotic foods while watching the live bands, DJs and floats.

Four brass bands will make their way through the city in a 'warm up' the day before the carnival in the direction of Coolsingel where they will take the stage to compete for a cash prize in the "The Battle of the Drums".

Those heading to Holland later this summer will be able to enjoy the International Fireworks Festival in Scheveningen from August 14th to 16th, according to the news provider.
