Amsterdam's largest green space will be hosting a free festival suitable for all ages this summer.
The Vondelpark Summer Festival runs from June to August (excluding Mondays and Tuesdays) and will include a variety of free performances. It will feature free theatre, entertainment, cabaret, dance, and concerts.
On Wednesday there are shows especially for children and the park has six play areas and one large playground. It is also possible to rent skates and buy pancakes.
Classical concerts are held in the bandstand on Thursdays and Fridays see theatre and dance shows.
Saturday is a busy day during the festival, with various events and workshops allowing visitors to get involved. And Sundays see more live music.
Vondelpark is the largest city park in Amsterdam and has around 10 million visitors per year. It is used by tourists and locals alike and was established by a group of prominent Amsterdam residents in 1865. It is landscaped to look like an English landscape, with vistas, ponds and pathways.
