Film festival heading to Rotterdam

Rotterdam's International Film Festival will be welcoming floods of people to the city once again this year.

Film fans will be making their way to the incredible location of the festival to take in some of the 450 films showing at venues throughout the city. It will take place from January 23rd to February 3rd.

There will also be a great many premieres as part of the festival's run. Some 60 films will make their international debut to expert audiences. Around 2,000 industry professionals are expected to attend, along with 300,000 others who simply have an interest in films and filmmaking.

Not only will films keep them entertained, but a host of events around the city will attract visitors to explore all that Rotterdam has to offer. Various prizes will also be presented to filmmakers and contributors.

The chief of these are the BPRO Tiger Awards, which give the winners a guarantee of distribution and TV screening throughout the Netherlands.
