Europe's biggest music, literature and visual arts festival is taking place next month, attracting visitors from all over the continent. More than 80 acts will be entertaining crowds at the Theater aan het Spui in the Hague in the festival which takes place from November 18th to 24th.
Salman Rushdie, Rufus Wainwright and Super Furry Animals will be some of the acts entertaining this year. The various contributors will be spread around some of Holland's most fashionable venues.
First running in 1991, the festival took place outside The Hague in a low-key setting, but has become one of Europe's must-see events for fans of the arts. It is also famed for being one of the most trendy literature festivals, bringing about unique combinations of artists and talents.
Last year's highlights included Will Self, Razorlight, the Futureheads and John Power. Recent years have seen contributors such as Fay Weldon, Michel Houellebecq and Kinky Friedman.
