Indulge the children at the Efteling amusement park

The Efteling Amusement Park is based in the Kaatsheuvel area of the Netherlands and is the country's biggest theme park.

Opened in 1952, the park offers "a magical atmosphere that can be enjoyed by visitors of all ages", according to whatsonwhen.com.

When the park opened it was geared towards children and based around a fairy tale theme. Since then, though, the park has expanded to appeal to a wider audience.

The Fairytale Forest has different tales to tell including Sleeping Beauty, Snow White and the Seven Dwarves and the Frog Prince.

Rides at the park include a steam carousel dating back to the 19th century and a snake-like Python rollercoaster. Efteling also has a haunted castle and a piranha water ride. There is even an open-air theatre, a full-sized golf course and a hotel.

According to theticketlady.com, Efteling "appeals to both young and old with its cultural, romantic and nostalgic themes".
