Some of the best jazz in Europe will be showcased in Holland at the upcoming Jazz Maastricht festival.
Due to open on March 14th, this year's festival will pay homage to the world's greatest jazz musicians with performances from some of the best contemporary artists.
Fusion jazz group The Yellow Jackets will take to the stage, as will mouth harp expert Toots Thielemans and noted Gypsy jazz trio The Rosenberg Family.
Over the course of the weekend performers from across the globe will take to the stage at the town theatre, known locally as Theater aan het Vrijthof.
Another highlight will be singer Diane Schuur's performance on the opening evening. The jazz diva has sang with Dizzy Gillespie, Count Basie, BB King and Ray Charles - among others.
Maastricht is the capital of the Limburg province of Holland and is well worth a visit at any time of year. As well as its famed jazz festival, the town has an annual carnival and hosts the European Fine Art Fair.
