This March, the Dutch city of Maastricht will host what has become one of the leading art and antiques fairs in the world.
A visit to the European Fine Art Fair, or TEFAF Maastricht, is a must for people on a short break in Holland.
Over 200 leading art and antiques will gather from around the world to display a huge selection of art and decorative work at the fair.
The fair has a number of different sections or categories, including paintings, drawings and prints, antiques and ceramics. There is also a section on 20th century art featuring works from European and American artists. La Haute Joaillerie du Monde section features the latest in glamorous jewellery design. Other popular sections include classical antiquities and Egyptian art works, illuminated manuscripts, rare books and maps.
Collectors and interested observers alike are welcome to the fair. Around 70,000 people visited last year.
This year the fair will be held in the Maastricht Exposition Congress Centre from March 7th to 16th. It will be open from 11:00 to 19:00 local time, apart from Sunday when it will close at 18:00.
