People holidaying in Spain could take the opportunity to view "one of the jewels of world architecture" - the Giralda Tower in Seville.
The distinctive 35-storey building was completed in 1198 on the orders of the Moorish Caliph and was later converted into a cathedral's bell tower by Christians, reports Viva Travel Guides.
Visitors can climb to the top of the tower, taking in a number of small displays about its history on the way up.
Ramps which were once used to travel up the tower on horseback now make the climb manageable. Once they reach the summit, tourists are rewarded with a 360 degree view of surrounding Seville.
While the tower may not seem a family-friendly attraction at first, the New York Times states that it should not be missed - even with a youngster in tow.
Entertainment for younger holidaymakers includes a courtyard filled with orange trees and the tomb of Christopher Columbus, which is supported by large statutes.
