France and Spain remain two of the most popular destinations for British property investors.
Property firm Prime Location has suggested that the two European countries are still the first choices for Britons looking to buy a house abroad.
A relaxed lifestyle, easy-to-access transport routes from the UK and pleasant year-round weather make the two countries obvious choices, said Louise Hall business director at the property website.
She said: "The UK buyer is primarily looking for good weather, easy lifestyle, good transport links, rentability for income purposes and familiarity - which is why France and Spain have always been in positions one and two."
Ms Hall also explained that as the two countries are diverse, there are plenty of opportunities for investors - and holidaymakers - to find their perfect location.
"Spain like France is a big country, so there are plenty of other regions that people will look to buy in, provided they are served by good transportation links to the UK," she concluded.
Lifestyle choice seems to be a major concern for those Britons looking to move across the continent. A recent study from the international banking division of NatWest found that 87 per cent of Brits who left the UK for warmer climes say their quality of life has vastly improved.
