Spanish property market full of really good investments

Spain still offers plenty of opportunities for Britons looking to invest in overseas property, one expert has said.

Despite a recent slowdown in house price growth, the market is stable and provides a lower-risk opportunity than new emerging markets, said Paul Collins from BuyAssociation.

The property expert explained that changes in the Spanish property market over the past couple of years have been triggered by a shift in the type of people buying homes.

He said that people who enjoy holidaying in the European county and one day want to live in Spain are more likely to buy property there, while investors are looking for the high returns generated by newer hotspots.

"In future, this leads to a more stable market and people might not be getting the kind of capital growth that was happening in the last five years or so," Mr Collins highlighted.

The favourable weather and proximity to England of Spain means that is will always be popular with holidaymakers, perhaps heading over on a cross channel ferry, he concluded.
